Freelancer Feedback Comments for Client:
“BEWARE of this buyer!
Before the start and at the beginning of the project, the buyer asked for payment out of Elance. This was in fact a trap, and is also against Elance policy. They even use this as a term of awarding you the job.
After we refused their request, they told us they "are having issues at the moment with payment via Elance" and "want to be able to pay you promptly upon completion". We agreed they can fund escrow a little later, but we insisted on payment via Elance.
We delivered qualified job on schedule, and our translation was done by a native speaker with years of experience, who has done quite a lot of Chinese translation projects, and get 100% positive feedbacks on Elance.
But the buyer told us our translation is "completely incorrect" and refused to pay, without providing any proof of our "mistakes".
We actively communicated with them to resovle the issue. They said they would provide a report on our translation, but never did that. Nearly a month has passed, they still said they had payment problem. Later they simply did not respond at all.
We had to to file a dispute to Elance, and gave them nearly 30% discount, and they paid reluctantly at last.
See the feedback they gave us. They only gave us 3 points out of 5 for Response, even though they said "The supplier was quick to respond'''' themselves.
Remember, NEVER start to work before THIS buyer has funded the escrow. Otherwise you''ll fall into great troubles, in the danger of doing the project in vain. This is a lesson, for us ALL.”
