Payment Terms
I am used to working on a word count basis, but this can easily be translated into an hourly rate with a ceiling price. For text revision and brochures, I use a fixed price on the basis of the complexity and size of the project.

Exact rates depend on job complexity, but to give some ballpark figures: I bill around 5 cents/word for translating generic texts and 15 cents/word for original writing (excluding any costs in research time). More complex text may call for higher rates.
