Whether you have a creative project, an academic paper, business-related documents, content for a website or blog, or anything between, I can write eye-catching, easy-to-read material from scratch or improve upon existing content.
Whatever you want to say, I can help you say it.
I hold a BA in English (Creative Writing) from Northwestern University, where I graduated cum laude with departmental honors. I have also managed and edited a literary journal, edited creative and academic works, and written several spec screenplays.
Previously, I have worked as a content developer for CognitiveArts, a company that specializes in creating "learning solutions" for corporate clients, including Hewitt Associates and Country Financial. During my time at CognitiveArts, I wrote scenario-based learning material (some classroom-based, some web-based) designed to help our clients train their newly-hired employees.
I will soon be working on other e-learning projects, but I would also like to pursue freelance writing opportunities.
Before my time at Northwestern and CognitiveArts, I held a variety of jobs, all of them peculiar in their own way. I managed an independent video rental store, operated camera during evening newscasts for a CBS affiliate in Iowa, worked in the banks of a mega-casino in Connecticut, and tended bar at a small Italian restaurant in the Chicago suburbs.
My personal interests include sports (especially hockey and boxing), dogs (especially greyhounds), and finding a good story. I specialized in Creative Non-Fiction at Northwestern, and I simply love talking to people and getting them to share their stories with me.
