As a crackerjack editor, it's my job to understand exactly and deeply what your writing is about, so that I can help make it everything you know it can be. Whether light or substantive editing is what you need, whether you want your voice retained or developed, I will apply skills gained over 30 years in trade publishing (fiction and non-fiction), magazine editing, pharmaceutical advertising, television production, researching, and generating b2b marketing materials.

Comparison proofreading in 14 languages for a pharma re-branding effort, researching to find hidden information, writing newsletters and editing Web sites for arts agencies, suggesting revisions for scholarly articles written by college professors, and working on books that became NYTimes bestsellers: all were interesting projects for me, and successful for my clients. Certainly, editing fiction is always a delight.

Whatever your project is, I will help you make sure your work is the best it can possibly be.
Service Description
I'm an excellent writer and an even better editor. Applying the critical skills required to see deeply into a piece of writing, to understand what it will take to make your book/article/Web site/paper/copy the best piece of work it can be, and to either make changes or to suggest changes -- whatever you prefer -- is where I excel. My proofreading skills are unsurpassed... and I am the winner of our local spelling bee -- four times! (Some of the winning words: nidicolous -- which refers to baby birds that don't leave the nest in a hurry -- and embouchure, epergne, and omphaloskepsis.) Jobs are done with energy and enthusiasm, professionally, efficiently, and to your specs, with satisfaction guaranteed.

I am a NYS-certified English teacher, specializing in middle and high school English. I continue to sharpen my research skills, and being affiliated with various public schools and schools of higher ed (universities and colleges) gives me wonderful access to various databases helpful in many kinds of research.

I've also worked as a television producer (and I have a local Emmy for one of the talk shows I worked on); a regional supervisor for a national bookstore chain; and I've been a colleague of Audrey Hepburn's, when she worked for UNICEF. Each one of my jobs has followed a single thread -- helping people to communicate, and understand, in the best way possible.
