“This client is only upset because I didn't do a third edit of his book, nor did I put, or add things that he deemed worthy of putting into this book, even though none of these things were in the job description. He wouldn't fix the tracking after I was done, which I did for him, and he would barely look at his own book.
He wanted a book, but didn't want to do anything to help make it a book! He was demeaning and at times I felt I was the peon and he was the mighty, Wannabe, author; not to mention having to beg for payment. I could have worked for him until the end of time and it wouldn't have been enough. Nothing was ever enough for him.
As anyone can see from my feedback and ratings, there is nothing wrong with my editing, but there is something wrong with such a demanding client. I would turn and run the other way if he ever approached me again, or called a million times, as he did.
Just a note so others can beware. Be very aware!
From the looks of his final statement, 'next batter up', it seems he is going to go through yet another editor. Good luck.”
Freelancer Feedback Comments for Client:
“This client was the worst I have ever had in all my years on Elance. Demanding, wants something for nothing, required much more than two complete developmental edits, wanted formatting which we had never talked about, etc. etc. It was like bleeding out a turnip to get paid, and I felt, as a writer, that I was the peon and he was the master. I don''t like to work FOR people, I like to work with people. Needless to say, if you work for him, watch yourself. On a scale of one to 5; one ”
