Would like to look at fixing the weather issue and the other issues aI have sent you.
“The work provided by Yalantis is unusable. i was contacting Apple to get them the knowledge they needed to fix the problems but as soon as it came time for them to deliver code to apple they gave up and quit. i now have found out the work they have done is very poor and unusable.
This company built an iOS app for me a few years ago, The job was never completely finished and i went to other developers to finish it, all the other developers said the code was bad and needed to be redone from scratch, I did not wan to believe this and came back to Yalantis for fixing. After they accepted the job and took $4K of payment, they then said they do not understand the code even though they wrote it. i accepted this and they went on working, 14K later we still have major problems with the code and having no other choice opened a case with apple so Apple themselves could trouble shoot the code for Yalantis, Yalantis then told me there code was based on an old iOS after I spent 14K! they then quit, obviously realizing there code would be looked at buy apple causing there bad code to be exposed.
Roman, who had managed this job had told me numerous times that bugs in the app were due to Apple iOS, I then would take the issue to Apple and Apple would point me to a document that clearly showed how to implement the feature. Roman then had the issue fixed, This showed a lack of basic understanding of the iOS platform that gave me concern, unfortunately this continued with the implementation of a simple weather API, they continued to put major problems off as long as they could, then said they can not work on the app any more.
Yalantis is very active an making sure feedback left for them is positive but they should put equal effort in making sure the code is worthy of positive feedback.
This job doubled from its initial budget and I now have flawed code. if you are looking for a developer to deliver quality i would suggest you look elsewhere as i am now doing.”
“We worked with Mark for 3 years and released several good apps and many updates during this period. A year and a half after the main app had been developed and released Mark found other cheaper companies to work with. Nevertheless after a while he came back to us with just "small issues" to fix, that took 5-10 hours weekly. This support phase lasted about 3-4 months, while we were trying to sign a full-time contract with Mark and give a developer to do the job for him. All in all, lots of work was done by the 3rd party, which was low quality and did not deliver Mark any result.
Furthermore, 3 years old project has nothing to do with iOS6 and iOS7. The code that was written by lots of companies is not scalable and of course the iOS 3 version should be completely redone. We made it clear for Mark many times that there is a need to work from scratch and the old iOS version we cant ignore. But we never got the approval because Mark believes the issue is within our developers competence.
Because of the fact that Marks vision of business cooperation does not coincide with our point of view on effective development, we finally decided to end up working with him. After we told him that, he tried to demand the money for the past 4 month of the product support back. When we refused to do it, he tried to have Elance ban us. Elance surely accepted our point of view. So Mark came up with an idea to give us the minimum score and write this feedback, a reply to which you are reading now.
Indeed we had to resort to Apples assistance at one single extremely rare scenario of using the app functionality. Furthermore, the issue emerged right after the release of iOS7 and had nothing to do with basic understanding of the iOS platform. We also did make a mistake with weather API. But having figured that out, we instantly returned Mark all the money spent on finding solution to this problem without any hesitation.
Its a shame Mark made everything possible to ruin our business.”
