The client needed to take their existed files and recreate them so that there was room for imprinting messages. This way, someone could order a bottle of Crown Royal with a birthday, wedding, or other message and have an actual product label.
As with high-end printing, these labels contained 4-color process as well as spot color layers. Combined with die lines, foil stamping, embossing, these were complicated labels.
If you take a closer look (click the image to see more detail), you can see the die lines (where the labels are cut), the foil layer, and especially noticeable on the Crown Royal label, the embossing (create a 3D surface effect).
