Creating a Social Networking Website
We're working to create a social networking website similar to other well-known social media sites, but with a somewhat different workflow in mind. We'd like to be able to have messaging and chatting integrated into the website, online profiles with pictures and info similar to Facebook, and most importantly a 'news-feed' or 'timeline' like Facebook's built into the site as well. Unfortunately we can't divulge too many other details as the project is strictly under wraps right now. However, we believe this idea is potentially huge, is likely to become an ongoing job, and may lead to significant opportunities in the future.
Our aim is to create a very fluid, well-designed, intelligent beta social networking site that is easy to navigate and use. Our primary goal is to have the prototype/beta website up and running within a month. We are looking for a programmer who is extremely proficient with web design and programming, but more importantly must be driven and passionate about creating this website.
We will provide a much more comprehensive idea, with sketches of the website and a full outline of our needs. Although this website will have several aspects that are already very widely used in the social media sphere, there will also be aspects that are completely new and unique to our website, which will require a web designer who is skilled and creative enough to realize these unique functions. We will be asking the contractor to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement and a Contract of Works to solidify our full ownership of the materials that will be created in the process.
Purpose of the Website:
We need a contractor who is:
The contractor must be able to:
- Speak English well
- Program websites
- Design websites
- Consult on various ideas and their viability
As stated above, there will be many original aspects of the website. We will need a contractor who is able to consult on the viability of these features and is also able to execute them. In essence, because this is, at its core, a social network, many aspects of the site will be very easy to realize. On the other hand, because the site has unique features that are currently not present in any other social network, it will require someone skilled and creative enough to produce such features from scratch.
