Simple Customized Windows 8 Interface for Mall Advertising Kiosk
We require a very simple customization of the Windows 8 interface to be used on a Samsung ATIV One 5 (21.5" LED Full HD Touch) All-In-One computer. Specifically, we need you to program a variation of Windows 8 which only allows users to view a locked split screen interface which features advertisements on the left, and featuring games on the right. We want the sidebar and side menu disabled so that users cannot navigate away form our split screen interface featuring advertisements and games. Please note that the keyboard and mouse will not be available to users, they will only be able to use the touchscreen to navigate this computer. This customized interface will be installed on a computer at a mall advertising kiosk, so we do not want people able to navigate away from the split screen interface in anyway. We are locking down this computer to serve only two purposes, and must be sure that users cannot navigate away from our advertisements.
The advertisements featured on the left side of the split screen can be implemented one of two ways: internet explorer displaying one specific website (we can develop website and provide domain) or a media player displaying files uploaded to a specific folder on the local hard drive. Perhaps you can brainstorm a more efficient way to implement the advertisements on the left side of the screen. Regardless, we need to be able to change the advertisements that display on the screen from time to time. The bottom line is that we need users to be able to scroll through advertisements in the form of images on the left side of the screen. In fact, we would like the advertisements to automatically scroll even when users are not actively manipulating the left side of the touch screen interface. Ideally, we would like the ability to view individual images in full screen by clicking on them, and then being able to exit their full screen full view of advertisements by clicking on an exit button. When a user exits this full screen view of an advertisement, they will return to the standard split screen interface. We would also like full screen to automatically revert to the split screen interface after 60 seconds of inactivity. Perhaps the full screen functionality is not viable, so let us know what is 100% realistic. Again, the bottom line is that we need users to be able to scroll through advertisements in the form of images on the left side of the split screen interface.
The games featured on the right side of the screen are meant to attract the attention of people as they walk through the mall. Our goal is for people to play games on the right side of the screen while advertisements display on the left side of the screen. Unlike the left side of the screen, we never want the right side of the screen to enter a full screen mode, as the advertisements on the left side must always be visible when users are playing games. Ideally, we would like a popular title like Candy Crush to be the game featured on the right side of the screen. Perhaps we can implement a simple menu where users can pick from two or three games.
This is a time sensitive project, so proposals with shorter development time frames will be prioritized. The largest priority is for a completely locked down interface which displays advertisements in an easily browseable format. We cannot have anyone navigating away from the advertisements. Please be specific in your proposal about how you will implement each side of the split screen interface.
Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to having this job completed via Elance.
