Wireless Accelerometer Input Conversion
The goal of this project is to convert foot motion to keyboard keystrokes.
This project involves creating two wearable wireless accelerometers (one for each foot) that can be battery powered, and wirelessly coupled with a USB receiver for Windows 7 PC.
The accelerometer needs to be recognized as a keyboard and its inputs need to be converted into keystrokes. Foot motions will be converted to related keystrokes within the scope of video games. For example: Marching in place will be converted to the UP arrow key or the 'W' key.
The final product should be a working prototype that will be relatively cheap to manufacture.
The wireless accelerometer will be short range so it will preferably be a cheap RF or Bluetooth transmitter and receiver. If electronics development kits are to be used for the prototype they should be relatively cheap.
This project is only requesting one working prototype to include:
1. Two battery powered accelerometers + wireless transmitters
2. One USB receiver (Using two receivers, one for each transmitter is not preferred but will be considered)
3. Code/algorithms for any firmware or software written
Successful completion of the working prototype may allow continuing work for electronics schematics, PCB design and creation, more robust firmware/GUIs, and case design for the electronics.
Any hardware that is required for this project will be purchased and shipped by this project's creator (unless the freelancer requests purchase items themselves and bill the costs).
This is a repost of a previous project. I have cancelled the previous post and recreated it to give more details about the project which will hopefully lead to more discriminating proposals.
